@westerosorg @ChetBakerFan1 No argument from me on his acting chops. Him and Olyphant were the best part tbh. Too bad every character in that show dropped 10 IQ points each subsequent episode.

@UriahLoruamah @ChetBakerFan1 Some details matter more than others, IMO, but mileage may vary. I just know he was very good on ALIEN: EARTH and should do a good job on this. Hopefully they still keep the character a mean, nasty SOB, that's more central to the character than his lineage.

@UriahLoruamah @ChetBakerFan1 Because they wanted to use a wider range of actors than just limiting themselves to actors that look like their characters, at least for characters where there's no story or world-building relevance?

@westerosorg @ChetBakerFan1 If it didn’t matter, then why did they change it? I sincerely am asking that. Why couldn’t the cast just be entirely ethnically white in a show based on medieval European history?

@UriahLoruamah @ChetBakerFan1 Story or worldbuilding are the places where I tend to think some thoughtfulness is needed, but with Bennis, it doesn't matter to the story and it doesn't implicate the world-building, so it's fine by us.

@UriahLoruamah @ChetBakerFan1 Yes, true, but it doesn't actually really matter to the story. Arguably Rohanne being super short is more relevant, and Boynton is average height, but it's fine. It's not like Bennis is a Valyrian, or supposed to be Dunk's dad or something.

@UriahLoruamah @ChetBakerFan1 If you mean Bennis's appearance, he's a character without family ties or offspring that we know of, so doesn't really matter what his ethnicity is. He can be a Westerosi descended of (in the show) the people of Driftmark, or some Summer Islander descendant (like Alayaya), etc.

@ChetBakerFan1 Come to think of it, Gleeson would also have made a good Eustace Osgrey, too. But Mullan reminds me a lot of the depiction in the comic book adaptation of the novella.
