What's the highest ROI skill you've learnt?

Normally I procrastinate a ton. But I've recently discovered a trick to overcoming procrastination. It's being offered a free t-shirt in exchange for 4 PRs. I should try this more often. #Hacktoberfest2022

@EmmaBostian I have vim key bindings set, so for me it's 34 gg, but same idea.

Am I the only one who uses the `:<line-number>` command in VSCode to jump to a specific line? It honestly saves me so much unnecessary scrolling. 1) command + p 2) :34 to go to line 34

Startups flat hierarchy is utter bullshit. The more I work with startups, the more I realize how important the org structure is.

@EmmaBostian That sounds awful. It's hard making friends in American cities, and I can only imagine it's more difficult in another country.

I'm 28 years old and I still feel like the strange kid that nobody wants to play with in school and who only gets invited to things out of pity. Honestly struggling a lot with that right now and feeling super lonely. Not a good feeling.

@EmmaBostian I think they become more valuable in large projects. For people trying to break into the industry, it is tempting to take the path of least resistance and skip testing in order to build a portfolio faster. It seems reasonable to learn testing when it becomes necessary.

Why has it taken me 5 years of professional software development to properly learn testing? Why are we not more concerned with adding robust tests? Why is testing not taught in many programming courses? I swear tests have saved my ass so many times... WRITE TESTS.
