🇪🇺🤔 Is the EU a Censoring Regime? Recent Reports say No: After the @EU_Commission fined Musk's platform €120M for breaching transparency rules under the DSA, Musk and various USA politicians have slammed the EU, accusing it of suppressing free speech. Musk even called for the EU to be abolished over it. 💥 But what does the 2025 World Press Freedom Index say? The WPFE shows that the top 15 countries in the world for press freedom are all in Europe, with 12 of them being EU member states. The other 3 are closely linked to the EU through EEA and EFTA. 🌍 So, is the EU really undermining free speech, or are they just holding tech giants accountable for transparency? 🤔 What’s your take? D’accord sur notre nécessaire souveraineté, mais l’Europe ne doit pas craindre d’améliorer ses règles. Simplification n’est pas synonyme d’affaiblissement. == @ThierryBreton défend une ligne claire selon laquelle l’UE doit assumer son modèle réglementaire comme un outil de souveraineté. Il rappelle que le DSA, le DMA, le Data Act et l’AI Act forment le cadre le plus avancé au monde, reflet direct des valeurs européennes. Face aux modèles américain (privé) et chinois (dirigiste), il juge que toute tentative de détricotage (en pensant au Digital Omnibus) affaiblirait la position européenne. via @LesEchos lesechos.fr/idees-debats/c…
