The ḥadīth that “the angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or images” is authentically reported in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim. Scholars explain that the “angels” mentioned here are specifically the angels of mercy, not the recording angels who are constantly with every human being. The absence of these angels signifies that such a home is deprived of divine tranquility, blessings, and spiritual protection, which are essential elements of a righteous Muslim household. The mention of dogs in the ḥadīth is not a condemnation of the animal itself, as Islam recognises all creatures as part of Allāh’s creation. Rather, the concern is tied to issues of ritual purity and environment. In the early Islamic context, dogs were often associated with impurity, particularly due to their saliva, and their presence within living spaces could compromise cleanliness. Thus, the teaching aims at maintaining a standard of physical and spiritual purity within the home. At the same time, Islam adopts a balanced and practical approach. Keeping dogs is permitted for valid needs such as guarding, hunting, or farming, as established in other authentic narrations. What is discouraged is keeping dogs without necessity, especially in a manner that affects cleanliness and the spiritual atmosphere of the home. This demonstrates that the ruling is not absolute but guided by purpose and context. Spiritually, the ḥadīth directs Muslims to be conscious of the kind of environment they cultivate in their homes. A home should be a place of remembrance of Allāh, purity, and moral discipline, an atmosphere that invites the presence of divine mercy. Anything that contradicts this ideal, whether physical impurity or symbolic distraction, may hinder the descent of that mercy. In contemporary times, our scholars revisit this narration with contextualization, particularly in cases of necessity such as service or security dogs. While modern hygiene may address some practical concerns, the deeper wisdom of the ḥadīth remains unchanged: a believer should strive to maintain a home that attracts the mercy of Allāh and reflects both outward cleanliness and inward spiritual consciousness.

izin jump in yaa kak dari pov agama islam ☺️ 1. pertama-tama kusarankan, jika masih punya stigma seperti ini, kita bisa cari guru yg lebih sesuai dgn lingkungan dan tingkat ilmu & iman kita biar memahami islam secara bertahap. 2. lalu bisa dicoba melihat aturannya dr sudut pandang yg berbeda. yg diliat bukan, “kalo ga pakai jilbab masuk neraka”. tapi “kalo menutup aurat, bisa jadi perantara mendapat rahmat Allah dan masuk surga” 3. fyi, rahmat dan ampunan Allah jauh lebih besar daripada murkanya. sebanyak dan sebesar apapun dosa seorg hamba, selama dia bertaubat dengan sungguh sungguh sebelum ajalnya, maka akan Allah ampuni. 4. belajar lagi ttg tauhid. dalam tauhid, ada 3 konsep yg harus dimiliki seorg hamba dlm beribadah kpd Allah dan semuanya harus seimbang. 🔅rasa cinta : ibadah karena cinta pada Allah 🔅rasa harap : melakukan perintahNya karena berharap pada ampunanNya, pahalaNya, surgaNya, ridhoNya, rahmatNya, dll 🔅rasa takut : menjauhi larangannya karena takut akan murkaNya, nerakaNya, dll 3 ini harus ada dan seimbang. gaboleh ada kelebihan di 1 atau 2 poin saja krn islam itu agama pertengahan. semuanya pas pada porsinya. adapun neraka, salah satu tujuannya itu ada sebagai balasan atas ketidakadilan di dunia. betapa banyaknya penjahat yg tdk dihukum dgn adil karena kekuasaan mereka atas harta, popularitas, power dll. ga adil bukan? maka neraka ada utk ini. wallahu a’lam

@YoursMemely It baffles me that zakat isn't mandatory in parts of the world. The title of top ten richest person in the world make sense because they don't pay their zakat (which is another way of taxing the rich).
