@speakerjohnash from the religiously instilled ideals, people latch onto different bits
the easiest stuff to latch onto is the stuff that has to do with being useful to others and not asking too many questions
so there are plenty of reasonably pious people who end up serving evil forces
English

@TimesUpThanks @JsonBasedman folktale:
beautiful young woman is deeply disturbed by seeing others suffer horrible things that her beauty protects her from
prays to be ugly, framing herself as unworthy of beauty
an angel tells her not to worry about worthiness; her beauty is was always a punishment from god
English

@whatKCthought @JsonBasedman The interaction in particular with Alexander is probably the most useful thing he could have taught the guy. I was at this unit with a Captain who was just better than everyone else and good natured about it and the hatred he engendered was unreal and dangerous to him
English

@TimesUpThanks @JsonBasedman as to who is better, that's a philosophical position that could be debated or it's an opinion
certainly, diogenes cynicism has often been regarded as misguided and antisocial
English

@whatKCthought @JsonBasedman The 60 year old at Costco wearing a corncob hat and handing out samples to his friends and community with a warm smile is better than Diogenes. I just think getting out of the sun of others is in most cases most of the fruit of mutuality you can attain with anyone
English

@anamystick fantasy is spiritual decadence and, in light of this, tolkien's attempt to define what proper fantasy should be seems misguided
how he bristled at cs lewis for being free wheeling and pedantic, similar to lovecraft's critique of hodgson for being too romantic, is real nerd stuff
English

@WazzCrypto to a chatbot with with a savagely limited toolbox, every exchange looks like a "this isn't X, it's Y" situation
English

@7Hyenas few would dare to entertain such a hard nosed view of the matter
English

@Ale_Sl_5 @Tiwolozo1 by the way, really like the statement in your bio
English

@whatKCthought @Tiwolozo1 I feel like their new cb aren't viral bc half the choreography is just backup dancers and people want to see the girls
English

Remember when we were debating if the choreo was better without backup dancers ?😭 only itzy could do that fr
aritzystan 🍦@aritzystan
there’s just no one on itzy’s level when it comes to performances cause why am i still here?
English

@FTX_YoungBoy ever play that old quintet action rpg trilogy
soul blazer
illusion of gaia
terranigma
English

@Ale_Sl_5 @Tiwolozo1 probably true
also, Itzy (Yeji?) said that for Tunnel Vision they requested a choreo that prioritized looking good with the song *above* dazzling with its difficulty
if you think about it for a moment, this points to several other possible choreo/virality related issues
English

@TimesUpThanks @JsonBasedman the idea of diogenes's practice is that it proceeds from a place of utter disenchantment
disenchantment is a form of losing so in this sense diogenes can be viewed as a loser
at this point, one might turn to analyzing the meaning, and value or disvalue of losing an illusion
English

@JsonBasedman The key is to not exist for those people. Alexander The Great offered Diogenes anything and Diogenes only wanted Alexander to get out of his son. Diogenes was a loser if that was the best thing he could ask for from Alexander but maybe he was trying to teach the most important ..
English

@whatKCthought Perfectly said!
If you people wonder about what laws I’m talking about, this is one of them.
To be able to describe it, means you have the law under your control, since the awareness has encased it to know it.
The highest level of this stuff always brings me to Solomon.
English

I, Claudius and it's not even close.
Emir Han@RealEmirHan
Name the greatest TV show of all time.
English

@lilchiva started watching it many years ago and it did seem good
can't remember, but something must've gotten in the way
going back to it soon, now
thx for the reminder
English

@MAGNUSLEONIDAS like an echo coming back, even as it fades away
the ever diminishing reverberations of the last frequency and, after that, of its fading memory, still providing a sense of context, however faint, to the new frequency
as the old is gradually cleansed from the new
English

@Tiwolozo1 yes
always saw a connection between ringo and loco as well
