I love making these diagrams that show the distribution of an entire genus in a single map. Note the little population of trilineatus on the southern tip of the Eyre Peninsula.

I made a map of all uplands in Australia. I decided to cut out all areas less than 200 m elevation, to accentuate the higher areas. It’s fun to look at Australia’s topographic variation like this and contemplate how it influences biogeographic patterns.

@singingsox I highly recommend hyper-mobile people consider aqua aerobics, especially following long periods of no regular exercise. I never understood how people could feel good after exercise until I did an aqua class, absolutely blew my mind to find out exercise ≠ pain

@CooKeMonter Some of our frogs have more of the classic frog look (e.g. this little Litoria rubella), but I absolutely agree that L. caerulea looks totally fake

@whatisitdoing Aussie frogs are wild. I first thought they were plastic, even when they started moving I thought they were some advanced robots 😂 but so beautiful ❤️

The Clunes mushroom death is intriguing (and tragic). Amatoxins unlikely to blame given the sudden onset of acute symptoms and death within hours. That rules out Amanita (deathcap) and Galerina.
