Instead of giving an ambiguous statement that only fuels more speculation and hate speech, the company should focus on protecting the artist. This is especially frustrating because JYP has stayed silent before when Dowoon was targeted by AI-generated misinformation. Seeing the company remain passive again while he receives massive hate is very disappointing. Artists deserve proper protection from malicious rumors, harassment, and defamation. Please DO BETTER at protecting Dowoon!

It felt that the tactics or patterns are familiar~ (a long post) 1. ​The "Out-of-Nowhere" Catalyst: when the fandom is peaceful, a low-activity account abruptly drops a "dating rumor" backed by flimsy, circumstantial evidence like matching accessories or clothes, etc. This relies on to perceive meaningful connections between unrelated things. 2. The Minion Effect & Social Proof: The rumor is immediately boosted by a network of dormant, low-follower bot accounts. This creates an illusion of social proof, tricking onlookers into believing the rumor is a massive, credible issue and to create pressure within the fandom. 3. Infiltration & Cognitive Dissonance: these trolls masquerade as fans to sow doubt within the community. By exploiting fans' emotional investment, they trigger cognitive dissonance, forcing fans to choose between their loyalty to the artist and the fear of being deceived. 4. The Exhaustion Tactic: If the initial doubt takes root, perpetrators "add fuel to the fire" by migrating to platforms where the artist is active. This is a deliberate campaign of psychological attrition, hoping to drain both the fandom and the artist psychologically. 5. The Exit Strategy: The entire operation relies on a feedback loop. If fans react strongly, the cycle continues and sometimes, worst! (Like finale) If the rumor fails to gain enough traction, the posts are often deleted and the accounts disappear. What helped this time was the fandom’s response. Instead of amplifying the hate, many fans chose not to repost or engage with the negativity, and reverse it with positive responses which weakened the impact of the rumor itself- maybe(?) Yet again, being a fan means staying grounded even during noise and uncertainty. Rumors will always exist, but support should not disappear because of baseless information online. We may not know every detail of an artist’s life, but unless they have done something truly harmful, the least we can offer is patience, trust, and critical thinking instead of instant judgment. THIS. If my bias dates, sure, I'll be hurt and probably cry for a day. But I don't think I'll go anywhere. I don't think I'll stop fawning over him. Might be a bit awkward screaming for a man who has a girl lol but nope, I'll still be cheering on him and continue being delulu (responsibly). Thing is, if you want to leave because you feel heartbroken, then feel free to leave. Nobody will judge you. BUT, the moment you start throwing hate to the person you once loved, respected and looked up to-- that's a different story. And it's not a good one.
