Butler is the first Mr. Basketball winner at Whitehaven since Ron Huery won the first class 3A award back in 1986. He’s of course coached by the 2006 Class 2A winner Willie Kemp (Bolivar Central).

If Whitehaven’s Taquez Butler wins the 4A award today, he will join his coach as Mr. Basketball winners. Willie Kemp win the Class AA award for Bolivar Central back in 2006.
