Gordon Brown has the absolute nerve to lecture us about “putting the country first” while shielding Starmer from scrutiny. This is the same Gordon Brown who: - Crashed the economy and left us with the worst financial crisis in a generation - Sold off our gold reserves at the bottom - Lied about the economy being “safe in Labour’s hands” - Oversaw record immigration while denying it was happening Now he’s desperately protecting Keir Starmer — the man busy delivering even bigger failures: open borders chaos, soaring taxes, falling living standards and record low approval. Brown’s disasters were already historic. Starmer is just finishing the job. Two failed PMs protecting each other. Pathetic. #LabourFail

🚨 NEW: Gordon Brown has told Labour MPs to vote against referring Keir Starmer to the Privileges Committee "At challenging times both for our country and the world, the Labour Party has always sought to put the needs of the country first and with conflicts raging around the world with profound consequences for our country, this is the time to do so. "Whatever the parliamentary games at Westminster, what the country expects of everyone in Labour is to focus on the priorities of the British people, which is what Keir Starmer is doing and for which he deserves all our support"

@RinseHold @paulmasonnews But @DeborahMeaden gets likes/support saying crops can grow & animals graze under these monstrosities. We have the equivalent of 2000 football pitches going to be covered here in Lincs. And then the pylons going across country as we can’t afford underground cabling

Something big happened this week: a judge for the first time used Labour's reforms to Judicial Review to halt time-wasting NIMBY objections to a big solar farm. Process slashed from 24 months to 4. First of many. #BuildBabyBuild

@JamesMelville The internet is 35 years old this year, computers are even older again, they’ve had time to learn and it’s hardly a new thing 🤷🏻‍♂️. Even if you’re 70, the internet has been around for ½ your life Why do we act like people don’t have agency when they just haven’t bothered to learn?

I feel so sorry for any elderly person who struggles with online admin / isn’t online and doesn’t have a support network to help with online admin. Almost everything is online or automated now. And for those who aren’t online (in particular the elderly), they are marginalised.

This is Tehran, Iran — no Visa cards, their own banking system, clean streets, no beggars, no robbers, and self-reliant in everything from medicine to industry. Every 3rd person owns a car. A nation free, dignified, and 200 years ahead in living standards.

BREAKING 🚨 NHS waiting lists fall to 3 year low. With the Tories waiting lists rose by 5 million, and Reform want to move to an insurance-based system. With Labour, you get lower waiting lists, the best ambulance times in 5 years, and the best A&E performance in 4 years.

@AlexJJNorris Rubbish. You are moving them to residential areas - probably not yours- where you now have no control on how they behave or no sense of how the communities feel about it. A rotten example of ‘kicking the can down the road’.

All these European leaders like and respect Keir Starmer. What a pleasure to deal with an intelligent, experienced, good natured, good hearted PM who can regulate his emotions and whose commitment to his job and to international relations is paramount.
Rob Jetten@MinPres

🇳🇱🇬🇧 In these times of geopolitical turbulence, it’s reassuring to have a partner and a friend in the United Kingdom, our good North Sea Neighbour. This was reaffirmed today during my visit to Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer in London.   Naturally we discussed the fragile situation in and around Iran. I expressed my appreciation for the UK’s initiative to contribute, with the Netherlands and other allies, to an open Strait of Hormuz. The closure of the Strait is having a big economic impact worldwide. At the same time, we are not losing sight of the war in Ukraine. Ukraine can continue to count on us.   Today Prime Minister Starmer and I also took part in a roundtable discussion with energy companies from our two countries, focusing on the current energy crisis that is having a major impact on households and businesses. We must also remain committed to finding long-term solutions, to keep energy affordable and stay on track for a climate-neutral future.

@DeborahMeaden Fine if you have a secure income or substantial savings to pay for the change but those ‘just managing’ are living day to day and just hope nothing breaks down and cannot think about changing. And so nice that you think those who aren’t considering change are are stupid.

I think the encouraging thing is that despite the power of the fossil fuel lobby, people are responding to the oil volatility by buying more EVs, heat pumps and solar… and are not as stupid as the fossil fuel lobby think!!
