Listening to a FitD actual play, and the GM is explaining everything upfront: action rolls, position, effect, stress, etc. As a result, all the worst tendencies of FitD are on display. It's got me thinking: how would you introduce FitD to new players?

@evgenymorozov When Beer found Cybersyn wanting in the face of managerial recalcitrance, he did not try to address the problem through better statistical or computer engineering methods but through reconsidering the social context of the project.

@evgenymorozov I mean this in the way that it reconfigures labour-cognitive economic networks in ways that disavantage incumbents. Like in those cases, the technology is often seen as the most important feature when the social change is more significant.

I never liked the description of Cybersyn as a "socialist Internet." The focus on the telex network distracts from the purpose of the project: to build a system of distributed man-machine intelligence and use it to manage the economy. If anything, Cybersyn is "socialist AI."

@rileyrethaI If the rebellion were ABOUT the Force, Luke would have become more of a cult leader than a conventional war hero. The viewers know that the Force was important to him destroying the Death Star, but that isn't a whole public thing.

@rileyrethaI Luke, Vader, and the Emperor are supers in a more conventional war story. They can shape the course of the war because they have super powers, that's about the only way they're connected.

the rebellion doesn’t even have any connection to the force/jedi in the original trilogy i think rogue one has warped our view on this. luke’s powers and family history are purely incidental to the rebel alliance

@CatieOsaurus Play video games that don't have a lot of written or spoken dialogue so I'm still able to process what's being said. Either that or use a fidget toy.
