Iran has become completely dependent on China. Beijing, however, doesn't share this reliance, yet it still chooses to evade sanctions by purchasing illicit Iranian oil.
In doing so, China is providing Iran with a crucial financial lifeline in the form of FOREX, funds that are then used to support the regime's wrongdoing.
When tensions in region will eventually decrease, Iran's business with China will only continue to grow.

It's important to emphasize that many petrochemical plants within the Asaluyeh complex are owned by Iran's Ministry of Defense (MODAFL), most notably Zagros Petrochemical and Pardis Petrochemical.

The current situation in the Strait of Hormuz reminds us of this great article. Anti-ship cruise missiles pose the primary threat to vessels crossing the strait. Conventional cruise missiles are already difficult to intercept. Now, imagine how much worse it would have been had Iran completed the deal and acquired Chinese-made supersonic missiles.

Kind reminder: The IRGC is a terrorist organization. Paying it maritime protection money for passage through Hormuz is a concession to terrorism. Providing Iranian security bodies with forex merely funds the missiles and drones used to control the strait.

Iran’s Mehr News Agency reports airstrikes struck Khuzestan Steel in Ahvaz and Mobarakeh Steel near Isfahan, and also hit Mobarakeh’s power plant. Mobarakeh Steel is Iran’s largest steelmaker.
