@jonsthreecents The 1.25 keeps the rating aligned with GHSA’s own structure: since region champs are the only guaranteed playoff qualifiers, region games have to carry more value. Otherwise the formula and the rulebook are working against each other. If we're keeping regions, make it matter.

@wil24cooper You cite a great example of why giving extra weight to region wins is a horrendous idea. Same as any team who got stuck in a region with no real competition. No justification for counting them as 1.25 wins.

@kmartincu That’s a valid point! The best strategy for a strong 7A school would be to schedule strong 6A schools. 6A has the incentive as well with the potential bump in win credit. In a real world example, A 7A playing Hughes (6A #1) gives the same credit as playing Carrollton (7A’s #7)

@wil24cooper Nice job Will! Best of the 3!! More robust than PSR & simpler than Maxwell. Love capping victory margin, H2H exception & no regional 1st round rematches. Seems like highly rated teams in each class will be tough to schedule up? Noone wants discounted win against very strong team.

@jonsthreecents I've argued Regions are irrelevant when moving to a formula anyways, but since the GHSA wants to keep it, something needs to be done to keep teams (I.E. Gainesville) from jumping to boost their WP. Class weight prevent manipulation scheduling down tanks your rating twice:WC + OWP

@wil24cooper DOA with me as soon as I saw the added weight for region games. That goes double for rematch clause, can't punish a higher seed with a harder opponent. Bonus weight for class is also easily manipulated.

For the exclusive broadcasting rights you would think being able to switch between games or being able watch multiple game at once would be a reasonable request to make. Instead we will have to just watch the 15 second commercial every time we so much as act like we going to switch to another game. #NFHS #HSFB #TxHSFB #GaHSFB
