The SCUC ISD Counseling Department will be continuing its series of informational sessions for parents and community members on a variety of topics that are specifically intended to support our parents navigating the ever-changing challenges that our students are facing.

Jenga skills were STRONG with my students today in choosing which fallacy would collapse their tower & argument.

After we share & discuss the infographics & fallacies, we'll explore arguments.

Just as a fallacy can cause an argument to collapse, E3 students will create infographics on fallacies covered in notes using Jenga.

Group scavenger hunt review for tomorrow's vocabulary test in E3. It was most eggsellent.

The exhibition is open to all Clemens students & invited guests throughout the school day today, 10/14.

Each object includes a ~300-word essay identifying the object, relating the object to a chosen prompt, and justifying the object's inclusion in the exhibition.

IB Theory of Knowledge students setup their exhibitions featuring personal & general objects demonstrating how ToK manifests itself in the world.

Sometimes, students excel at illustrating the literature they read.

Word of the day is another old favourite. A 'mumpsimus' (16th century) is someone who insists that they are right, despite clear evidence that they are not.

@OverthrowingEd HS English teacher here who directly assigns no homework but does expect work not finished in class with a certain due date to be completed outside of class—esp when class time is squandered.

Educators and parents (or both): I'd love to hear your thoughts on homework. Also are there any middle or high school teachers out there who give little to no homework? Thinking about doing an episode on homework for my podcast Overthrowing Education. Thoughts?

This unit translated to almost instantaneous, real world improvement in their communication skills to teachers, prospective employers, and more.

Late to the party in mentioning but, E3 absolutely rocked their professional email communications unit, working independently & in teams to improve communication.

"We don't just think—we OVERthink!" Slogan for next year's IB shirt?

Conclusions on the latter: 1) "We're overthinking this. Like we do everything." 2) "What if we just stack them?" as no area is any more less or important than another.

Busy week in ToK, wrapping up knowledge area of indigenous societies and then attempting to rank all the areas of knowledge hierarchically.
