It’s more like I’m disappointed in your views @jk_rowling I’ve read all the Harry Potter books, and I started reading them in the 90s when I was an alienated young lesbian. I know so many who have read your works and related with the feelings of being different and alienated that the books delve into. Including young trans people. Being transgender is no different. I was in the closet for YEARS about it. Well before anyone called it a cult or demonized it like today. I was quite frankly afraid to come out because of the hate I would receive. And the world did not disappoint there. I understand you want to protect women & young girls. I just think that painting all trans women as possible predators is the wrong way to go about it. Are there men who would exploit the trans umbrella to gain access to women? Of course. Those are MEN though. Not trans women. Whether or not we ban trans women from single sex spaces or not I don’t think will change men committing these heinous crimes. I just don’t see that stopping men. If they want to walk into a woman’s bathroom and offend, a ban isn’t going to stop them. I also hope you don’t think all trans men are misguided women who will all regret transitioning. That’s just not true. Are there people who de trans? Yes. But being trans didn’t take away my ability to orgasm or any functions like that. Stage 4 endometriosis took away my ability to have kids, as it ate my reproductive system alive (another worthy cause if you want to protect women & girls is endometriosis awareness). Not being trans. I hope you take something away from this conversation. I think you need a few trans friends in your life, personally. Painting the whole community with such broad strokes is very problematic. You have an immense platform, I hope you know that. People listen to you. Keep that in mind. We aren’t all bad.

Nobody's pissed off or trying to silence you. I simply disagreed with your publicly expressed opinion, which is one I've seen repeatedly and indeed addressed just last week. You've replied to me many, many times, so I wasn't aware you wanted anonymity over and above your name and avatar. From now on, I'll happily hide your name. I'm interested in whether you see any irony in telling me I'm not trans so not qualified to speak, when you have literally no idea what it is to grow up female, yet feel entitled to redefine 'woman' to include yourself?

Finally, this is a highly emotive subject. Vet fees are high. They are and always will be when you want a group of highly trained professionals working on your pet. Abusing frontline staff is just the lowest of the low and will not change anything. Stop it. #vettwitter

I feel sickened by the recent bashing of our incredible Vets. The stories I hear about abuse from clients is horrific. Definitely seen an increase in my own profession too. Worrying, and not necessary at all.
