Lovely morning celebrating our local biodiversity and officially opening Surbiton’s newest bug hotel.

Come along to the mayoral opening of Surbiton’s newest bug hotel tomorrow morning! 10am in Burney Avenue, Surbiton (KT5 8DF). Followed by a short talk by @ElliotNewton90 about minibeasts and garden birds.

Another large scale #BugHotel under construction. The most ambitious one yet as it features a variety of habitats and will be framed by two pollinator beds and living sedum roof.

Yesterday I popped out at lunch to meet the lovely people at Cromwell Open Space, to put up some bat & bird boxes! All were made from recycled wood, by the fantastic organisation @WildReclamation. These will provide more nesting / roosting opportunities in our parks! @RBKingston

Join us in Claremont Gardens on Saturday 1st October 10am - midday. A Mayoral opening of the new pond will be followed by a wildlife talk, pond dipping and tools will also be available for some general gardens upkeep and litter picking.

Sadly, despite decades of careful habitat management, our recent owl conservation project & our recent harvest mouse reintroduction project, @EalingCouncil & @junction_2 music festival have plans for 15,000 people to dance on our most precious meadows. Please sign & share!
