Very interesting data point: I've met with three design + build firms over the last week. All three of them are pivoting their primary focus from custom builds to spec houses. Why? Faster cash cycles, no client handholding, and way more scalable. This is a quiet but powerful trend: Custom = margin Spec = volume With high interest rates and uncertainty, predictability wins. Seeing this in your market?

million dollar question for Q2: where to focus - wood frame decks (new) - patio covers - refinishing - balcony repairs - coatings / waterproofing - railings - design going to run ads for all of these in April and see where demand is, then check against profit potential

I still can't put my finger on it, but there's gotta be a way to streamline partnership opportunities for local blue-collar service providers. Cross-sell services, both parties get a piece, and everyone eats. Something, something, a rising tide lifts all boats!

@jamesonhaslam Effect of endless spam calls on this is underrated. At some point any unknown number is someone trying to sell me debt relief services

asked y’all how to be an exceptional contractor/home service provider, and the overwhelming response was “just answer the phone”. Clearly the bar is low, but why? Is every contractor a Neanderthal? What’s actually going on here
