What's one of your favorite Band/Musician documentary films? 🎶
On April 26, 1978, The Last Waltz, directed by Martin Scorsese, opened in theaters. The acclaimed documentary of The Band's star studded "farewell concert" features performances by Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, The Staple Singers, and Dr. John. It was held on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1976, at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. In 2019, the film was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
