Real talk with Lola… Before you’se start a rescue, Know there’ll be days you may have a hard time holding it together. Your mom may be up every 2 hours all night long doing a round robin of pups poopin’. Then she may still wake up ta a poop massacre cause someone was afraid ta go outside because they saw the yard guy outside the day before and isn’t sure if he’s gone. The whole house may smell bad no matter how much Mr Clean is used. She may be tired from doin’ laundry all day almost every day & keepin water bowls filled. Don’t let me get into how exhausting people can be & how hard it is ta be responsive when you’re in the midst of the daily care of senior & behavioral challenged pups. So yeah she may be cryin by 8am with a cut on her thumb from a food can cover & 💩 in her hair as she shoves another bed in the laundry. She may need a bueno bar at noon ta keep going. Right now she needs her iced coffee & a shower & hugs from all the pups here. But there are over 550 pups saved amidst this madness so we take it day by day. And we look at JJ, Georgie, Big Doug, Nelly, Scottie, Sunny & the others & know they may not be here without rescue. And we take a moment to be grateful. Before washing our hair. Hi everyone. I’m Lisas daughter. This is one of my favorite pictures of her and me together. They just took mom back for surgery. I’m not good with medical stuff like she is. She has a tube breathing for her and has been in and out of consciousness for a couple of days now. I can’t explain exactly what is going on, I don’t know how to. What I can say is she was born with some kind of hereditary condition that can go unnoticed until later in life. Out of the 8 kids born, she and one of my uncles have this condition. It was found in my uncle first, which caused all the kids to get checked. The doctors call it a bicuspid aortic valve. Her heart only has 2 valves pumping blood to it when there should be 3. The surgery she is having is to make a 3rd valve for her heart. This is pretty much all I know. Except before they took her for surgery, her pastor and his wife said prayers at her bedside, and I saw a tear roll down mom’s cheek. I always humored mom when it came to god. I won’t do that again. I have seen her response to him, and when I came here to let you know how mom is, and I see prayers. If she knew how many of you were pulling for her, praying for her, I know she would have something amazing to say, all I know to say is thank all of you. Mom told me there are many people here she is so grateful to have met, now I see why. The surgery time can vary, when she comes out, I’ll come back with another update. Thank you for caring about my mom the way you do, thank you for praying for her.
