@kenw_ia @Phil_Tanner No company I’ve worked for that has had unlimited PTO has used it for these reasons and I’ve been happier and less stressed at all companies where it has been in place.

The NHS collapsing before our eyes, nurses using foodbanks, social care in perma-crisis, schools facing bankruptcy, rivers full of shit, privatised utilities brazenly ripping us off, licensed thieves walking off with billions, an epidemic of corruption. Enough of this misrule!

What would be the simplest code to find another person on twitter/mastodon/github/gitlab who is WEST of a location?

@LeeHambley ISTR there was an editor in progress years ago that reflected code as a 2d graph rather than a flat file. Loved the idea but I guess it never went anywhere and wasn’t for a language I did. No idea what the backend looked like.

What languages, tooling and ecosystems are working like this, today that I don't know about? Who is advancing the state of the art in that respect, and what prospects are there for real change in the coming years on that front? /thread
