I work 6 days a week. Sundays are non-negotiable: they’re for my family. One of the best things about San Francisco is how easy it is to breathe outside the city. 45 minutes away: grab a backpack, pick up fresh oysters, hike the coast, and eat them on the beach. Hard to beat that.

Last week, we made a decision that reduced @getpancake_ai's revenue by 70%. On purpose. Most AI companies make more money when you consume more tokens. We decided to optimize for something else: how much value you get from every token spent. Less revenue for us. More value for our users.

A sentence we’ve heard way too many times recently: “We spent $500+ on [insert competitor] and got nothing actionable out of it.” The AI industry has become obsessed with token consumption. Customers don’t care about tokens. They care about outcomes. The best AI product isn’t the one generating the most tokens. It’s the one generating the most value.
