I actually saw Michael B. Jordan at a grocery store in Los Angeles once. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn't want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, "Oh, like you're doing now?"
I was taken aback, and all I could say was "Huh?" but he kept cutting me off and going "huh? huh? huh?" and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like "Sir, you need to pay for those first." At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When he took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually "to prevent any electrical infetterence," and then turned around and winked at me. I don't even think that's a word. After he scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Had the best time on @bbcstrictly’s ‘It Takes Two’ panel show on @BBCTwo - watch back on @BBCiPlayer #ItTakesTwo

English

@LaLaKenney @bbuk I literally said on last night’s panel that I disagree with her behaviour????
English

@kieronFish I don’t see the issue. News reporters do the exact same as it’s their job. That guy actually brought us details I had never heard before. It’s journalism. Why criticise him but not the itv news reporter who was there?
English

Go back to Tape? Hold on what did you mean by that lady? Them micro aggressions there. 🤨 #LoveIsland

@myles_morris @mindofprospect I get what you're saying but in their announcement post they were standing next to their Asian business partner - which made it clear they were in partnership with him. Who knows maybe their plan is for that 2% to increase to 50 as time goes on - we don't know their business plan
English

@will_njo @mindofprospect 2 black man saying "We are opening our very own supermarket" obviously screams black owned then it's backed up by the news reporter and the black owned pages posting it, you just don't want to believe it.
English

In this case no. If a genuinely black owned supermarket was their aspiration they have the capital and connections to make it happen tomorrow morning. It was a cheap attempt to funnel black traffic under the guise of "black owned" to an Asian business that's all. Bad optics.
killy@lovefromkilla
Isn’t 2% better than 0% tho, I’m lost. Haven’t we been buying these products from 100% Asian owned shops for years
English

@myles_morris @mindofprospect Looking at the articles, they marketed the store as “inclusive… to meet the needs to Black, Asian and ethnic people.” We can’t jump to conclusions based off what a reporter paraphrased unless there is a direct quote from them. 2% is better than 0%
English

@will_njo @mindofprospect What do you mean you can't assume he was told to say that? He said "they claim" as in they're claiming it is that? The reporter obviously didn't just make it up 🤣
English

@lovefromkilla I agree but I think some people’s argument was the store is being “marketed at black owned” - I’m still trying to figure out where anyone said outright that it’s a black owned store
English

@myles_morris @mindofprospect I’m also trying to find out where they outright said it was a black owned business. The news reporter said that in a voiceover after they filmed - but we can’t assume K&K told him to say that. There was use of the word “community” but that can be interpreted in several ways
English

@mindofprospect You really think the reporter standing right next to them helping them promote their business lied? He specifically said "they claim" it was a statement
English

@petepedwards @MusicConnoisseu They took a picture with the other Asian founder, which explains they are working with him. The two ppl in question are celebrities so of course they will be fronting the launch campaign - & they said they plan to make more job opps for the community which is defo doable.
English

@will_njo @MusicConnoisseu And yet they led with pictures of themselves ALONE, self-congratulating, no mention of the ACTUAL owner. A false narrative from the start, THAT is what people are angry about. If it works for them, well done. But it's nothing to do with and of no advantage to the black community.
English

@petepedwards @MusicConnoisseu They didn’t need to. Whether it’s 1% or 1.5% - they are still part of ownership. It is their win, which they are entitled to announce and celebrate. They know the full story/plan - not us. People who are making things happen for themselves don’t get phased over stuff like this
English

@will_njo @MusicConnoisseu They didn't announce it as a 2% stake in an Aeian owned business? They tried to sell it as black-ownwd without saying the words. It was a false narrative. If they'd been honest upfront-they wouldn't be facing this backlash.
