@willahmed such a huge fan of your product, I'm a walking build board, I tell everyone about it, I go up to people wearing it, would love to work with you and your team in some capacity, have some many ideas. so bullish on this next chapter!

@edgaralandough It’s based on GPS data so it will definitely not measure your miles on a treadmill from the phone. You can use the steps data as a miles indicator.
English

@willahmed Running on a treadmill with whoop is terrible. Never records any where close to the right miles.

@aepstein_ @WHOOP Working on this. The AI coach is already making progress on it.

@WHOOP @willahmed feature request: automatically detect my time zone. measure vital stats when at home vs. when travelling and degrees of variance on stats based on time zone hour delta from home time zone.

@TristanGHill We will have multiple collections. This first band sold out in the first few hours so clearly people like it. The collection is broader than fitness.
English

@willahmed why would yall make a collection like this and then make a band that isn't silicone for a fitness driven collection?

"How do you make tech that’s truly wearable? For Whoop, whose core product is a performance and recovery tracking band, the answer is to make it invisible."

It seems crazy that I have to say this, but I still believe deeply in human talent.
The reason that no one likes AI is that a bunch of CEOs are running around touting how it’s going to “replace jobs” and “improve efficiency.” That may make for a good earnings call but it’s a terribly uninspiring message for the workforce.
Tech collectively needs to wake up from its echo chamber.

"The new roles are an investment in the brand’s hardware innovation, advanced research, product development and global brand growth. The majority of new roles will be based at the company’s Boston headquarters, with additional hiring across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia."

@willahmed So pumped that you folks are building big in Boston, my friend.

Whoop has 800 employees today and just announced plans to grow headcount +600 this year. Investing in talent AND ai tools not mutually exclusive.
Many of these “AI layoffs” are just companies under performing or lacking a bigger market opportunity.

I have spoken to 3 founders in the last 48 hours; all of them with 500-1,000 employees. Each of them is planning a minimum 20% headcount reduction. Said with great concern; this is about to get very real for labour markets.

We have a great team and, unlike a lot of other tech companies, we are investing heavily in talent.

@willahmed Product is ripping. At least 10x better than it was last year across both hardware and software
