@MajorPhilebrity u ain’t wrong. but gay bars need drag queens to succeed. Flaming Saddles said no to queens for a month or two and nothing but country music and that didn’t last for shit.

You know as well as I do that gay bars have been closing across the country for decades. Rising rents/lower profits mean many of the ones that remain are spending less on entertainment. Also a part of the reason why there are less drag opportunities available is queer nightlife is more decentralized and shifting toward circuit events and one-off parties (Horsemeat Etc) outside traditional gay bars

Hit dogs HOLLERING. I think these queens (particularly ones that have been very successful from the show) want to make appearances out of drag so that they can retain a fee in a dwindling market. The drag gigs are drying up. Not for lack of interest in their talent, but because the sheer amount of popular drag queens that are available who will also take those gigs for less.
