An older senior faculty member at a different institution said wearing jeans in an academic setting (department meetings, classroom, conferences) is uncouth before tenure.
I wear real pants to meet with stakeholders/funders and upper admin.

@SarahJinx12 @4n6dave I had similar experiences. And everything I wanted happened in the chat. But what I really wanted was for them to use it more. What's the first best thing that you do to get them to engage in the chat?

@willchernoff @4n6dave We troubleshoot online class hiccups, we can share stories that come up relevant to class content, I can check on morale. I haven't had anyone misuse it that I could see. Almost all of the students add themselves for each class.
