But this was The Buckingham Palace Garden Party, the safest garden in the United Kingdom. In 2016, Danny Drinkwater was starting regularly for Leicester City as they pulled off the impossible and won the Premier League. A year later, a move to Chelsea was meant to take him to the next level. Instead, injuries and a loss of form saw his career stall completely. When his contract ended in 2022, no clubs came calling. With no realistic path back into the top level of the game, Drinkwater chose to retire. Today, he runs his own company on a construction site in England.
