@CFletcher74 @thepublicgets @The_TUC @rv_southern That was today in kitchen I work at, barely hit 25c outside. We would be closed for about 5 months of the year, and this is a kitchen with air con, a kitchen without would be closed 7 months of the year.

Trades Union Congress
BREAKING 🚨 | As Britain's first heatwave of 2026 begins, the TUC is calling for a maximum working temperature to protect workers. Workers should be able to stop work above 30°C, or 27°C for those doing strenuous jobs. With heatwaves becoming more common, we need new laws on maximum working temperatures, cooler workplaces, and climate action to reduce global heating.

@LinPau22 @PolitlcsUK 125k British nationals left. About 500k non EU and EU nationals left. That 125k figure isn't broken down into demographics either, u can't assume all 125k are UK natives.

@mysterypet @TS_Minstermen We were being ran by a moron who was only in it for himself and his own personal finances. I don't think anyone thought we were too big for league 2. We might aswel be a different club with how different we are now

@TS_Minstermen Look what happened last time they got promoted. Thought they were too big for league 2 and that ended with them imploding back to the conference. The time here suggests nothing was learnt.

@PieCarlton @GrimsbyBoy1984 @TS_Minstermen That's why josh stones is so integral to the squad, that's why he's a lot more sought after over Ollie pearce, despite scoring less. He's got the physicality league 1 and league 2 teams need.

There appears to be a clear pattern emerging at York City… Recent developments suggest the club’s ambitions extend well beyond simply returning to the EFL. #YCFC | York City FC

@C11S18 @TheHughAnthony @PolitlcsUK @RedBSierra And the less damage done In my opinion. If someone like lammy gets in it'll be straight back to open borders, starmers the only pm who actually made some progress in reducing net migration over every pm we've had in about 25 years.

🚨 BREAKING: Keir Starmer has told Cabinet that he will not resign "As I said yesterday, I take responsibility for these election results and I take responsibility for delivering the change we promised. "The past 48 hours have been destabilising for government and that has a real economic cost for our country and for families. "The Labour Party has a process for challenging a leader and that has not been triggered. "The country expects us to get on with governing. That is what I am doing and what we must do as a Cabinet"

@Macon012345 @TheHughAnthony starmer is the first prime minister to recognise the link between low wage growth and high immigration. Granted he's not done anywhere near enough, it's good it's become recognised by one of the main parties for once.

They have already proved they don't have any stomach for mass deportations. I think labour have deported more people in the last 2 years than the tories did in 14... I don't like them at all but this is better for Restore if Stamer and labour stay inpower for another 12 months. We wont have a country in 2031 if reform and the tories get into power.

If a general election is held now, Reform will have to form a coalition government with the Tories, we will then be stuck with lack-lust migration control, an importation of Commonwealth workers (Indians), and higher-levels of international finance. The center-right containment will then do everything in its power to destroy the dissident right and nationalism to prevent our rise. We cannot be impatient, grit your teeth and ride the wave. We must gun for 2029, that is the only chance of seeing a nationalist party take power.

@lukehastwatter @ZoomerHistorian And most of those are students, which are borderline tourists who just stay longer than usual. And the total number of people who left the UK including foreign nationals was 500k, no where near 700k. British people leaving was around 200k.

@ZoomerHistorian Immigration is not low. Net immigration is low because so many people are leaving. But gross immigration is still about 800,000. That's how they lie with numbers, don't fall for it.

Starmer is holding back the worst elements of the left whilst keeping immigration low (and heading for net zero) Those demanding he goes are risking a very dangerous gamble. They’re assuming Labour will implode and a general election will be called (where Reform will win if it’s soon) What if they don’t implode? Enjoy a second Boriswave. Starmer is increasingly hated despite his immigration successes, this is great for us in the long term as it drives people our way whilst not actually damaging the country through open borders. If the gamble works, great, if not, then we’re in sketchy territory.

@EnumahFrancis @ItsOnyim @grok @boye4christ2006 Because it's not come into full force yet as I explained. It's being rolled out slowly as it's not as simple as just changing the rules and flipping a switch. It has passed into law and it'll be fully rolled out by autumn, that's when the gov UK website will be updated

@ItsOnyim @willlsben @grok @boye4christ2006 It is not effective yet. There is no where they said it has become effective. They want to implement it yes, but changing to 10years from 5 years has taken effect as at today .

@ItsOnyim @EnumahFrancis @grok @boye4christ2006 It applies to everyone who hasnt got ILR. So if you applied in September for example, and still don't have it, then the new rule still applies. To bypass it you have to earn £50,270 or more and then your back to 5 years. Theres no other way to bypass it now

@ItsOnyim @EnumahFrancis @grok @boye4christ2006 It was proposed in November. Then passed on the 5 march, there was an attempt to kill the Bill but it failed and it officially became part of immigration rules on 15th April. The rollout will take awhile but its retroactive, so if someone doesn't have ILR yet it'll apply to them

@EnumahFrancis @grok @ItsOnyim @boye4christ2006 Yes it's official. The full rollout will have completed in September. But if you arrived in the UK or currently don't have ILR then there's a high chance you will have to wait a minimum of 10 years to earn it. They announced it 6 months ago and it's now officially law

@mjgerrard @KBGreyhoundlady @itvnews Ni increase was the least of there concerns when the parent company was carrying 700 million dollars in debt. Theyve been in trouble since 2018. The NI increase meant they died off 2 or 3 months earlier than they would have done anyway

@KBGreyhoundlady @itvnews Laughable suggestion. That's been the case ever since Amazon took over the world. The only thing that changed here is Labour and their massive NI hikes to tip them over the edge. Your inability to draw any dots together is either very funny or outright willing.
