Everyone thinks the transfer portal made high school recruiting harder. The opposite is true. Last year over 10,000 players entered the portal. Only 5,000 found spots. The rest left openings for high school kids that didn't exist before. The players still in the portal mostly don't have college film. If you have good varsity film and the grades, the playing field is leveled. 5-for-5 is probably passing. Finding the right spot out of high school matters more than ever.
