@kurt13warner Can you explain, why does the eye test tell such a different story? Maybe this game in a vacuum is one thing. But there are a lot of mistakes that felt like ones he made last year. The airmailing, the awful screen passes.. it just doesn’t seem like other NFL quarterbacks do that.

Just finished the #CalebWilliams film & thought it was pretty darn good! Here’s how I would grade him: 1st Half: 2 ++: making a play that not everyone makes 12 +: Right play for QB 1 +-: Missed something but made up for it with positive 1 O: play out to his hands 4 -: Bad plays in some form 2nd Half: 2 ++, 13 +, 5 O, 6 - Total for 46 plays: 4++, 25 +, 1 +-, 6 O, 10 - Don’t have time to do for every QB but overall that’s a really solid game… one caveat is a couple of the minuses were big play misses, but it happens to every QB!

@bearszn What do you expect him to actually do? Honestly. The mistakes in last nights game happened over and over during training camp. Ben Johnson said as much postgame. His solution is to go to the silent count? That’s defeatism. This is extremely concerning, you can’t not see it.

This type of accountability hits different when you know Ben Johnson will actually do something about those mistakes so they don’t happen again. It’s all about the details with him.

Four first-half false starts by the Bears on Monday. One was during a mistimed snap with a motion in play. Two had two OL jumping simultaneously. What gives? And how does it get corrected ASAP? I asked Ben Johnson. Ben: "I guess silent cadence, right? Maybe that’ll help here this week. We can go on that. And we’re going to need to do that and we’re going to need to be really good at that because this is going to be a loud environment that we’re going to. It’s going to be a playoff-like atmosphere. Ford Field has been something else over the last couple of years, so we’re going to have to be at our best. Certainly, we haven’t been good enough over the course of camp (with pre-snap competence). We haven’t been good Week 1. So this is going to be a huge point of emphasis for us going forward."

@Spursfanfolife @NyckBetter His first quarter was okay. Hit his checkdowns, but that shouldn’t be reason to cheer. He failed to pull the trigger on at least a couple deep balls that should have been big chunks. Don’t know if he doesn’t see it, doesn’t trust it, or what. But it’s alarming. 18 starts in.
