We were told the Tony Dapolito Center was 'beyond repair.' But thanks to the persistence of neighbors & new FOIL records, we now know that isn’t true. We don't need a demolition; we need a plan that puts the people of the Village ahead of the real estate lobby. #SaveDapolito
Father John Lydon on Pope Leo: in Peru, we lived together during a time of terrorism and an authoritarian government, and violations of human rights. And he was in the main plaza of our city gathering signatures in defense of human rights, in the plaza surrounded by government buildings.
So this is not somebody who just woke up and decided, well, now is the time to speak about human rights. This is part of his identity…
He's going to continue to speak up based on the moral principles of the church, because that's what he was elected to do. That's what all the popes are supposed to do
Before you pick a side in Trump’s feud with the Pope, consider this: one of these men has devoted 45 years of his life to studying and living the Gospel. The other cannot name a single verse from the Bible he claims is his favorite book.
Trump and Hegseth have been wrapping the Iran war in the language of God and faith.
The Pope responded that using religion to justify killing is a betrayal of the Gospel, not a defense of it, and that the war fails every moral test the church has ever established for armed conflict.
Trump called the Pope weak for saying so. Then posted an AI picture of himself as a Christ-like figure.
You don’t have to be religious to see what’s happening.
One man has actually read the Bible while the other is using it as a prop.
Congratulations to @CoachDustyMay, Elliot Cadeau, and @UMichBBall on winning their first title since 1989! This team dominated the tournament from start to finish. Well deserved. Go Blue!
I’ve seen the Dan Hurley video a bunch of times now. Of course, my first reaction is why the hell wasn’t that a tech. It looks like he squared up with the ref and got in his face. But after watching the whole thing closely, I believe there’s another explanation. Hurley just had his jacket tugged on by his assistants who were celebrating. Many people in the arena had thought time had expired. Hurley was circling back to look at the court with his typical psychopath “I’ll fight you” stare, and the ref actually stepped into his face and said something like “we’re checking to see if/how much time is left on the clock” and Hurley immediately turns and walked back to the bench. The ref had to get right up in his face because the stadium was so loud.
I know most people will call me an idiot and say that’s not what happened. But I’m curious if anyone else sees what I’m seeing there.
