Yesterday we invited migration minister, @SeemaMalhotra1 to tour the ‘In the Grip of Change’ exhibition at @SenateHouseLib, led by @EsiCox. The exhibition explores the Caribbean’s path to independence and the experiences of its British diaspora. It's open until April 12th.

A report released in September 2024 highlighted that between 1950 and 1981, all immigration and citizenship legislation in the UK was designed, at least in part, to reduce the number of non-white people permitted to live and work in the country? Thoughts?

BBF Islington was just the beginning… wondering what’s next? 😏

@judy_cassells As of March 2024, over 86% of claims submitted to the Windrush Compensation Scheme have received a final decision, with more than £85 million paid across 2,382 claims. So approximately 14% of claims were still awaiting resolution at that time.

@windrushdefence What percentage of the Windrush community have still not received compensation or recognition of their true status?

We were thrilled to host our ‘Building A Better Future’ event in Islington on January 28, 2025, at the Black Cultural Centre. The event provided vital support for the Windrush community, offering guidance on compensation and status schemes.
