Hormone overdoses can make the changes in your body worse. In my case, I get hormone injections (obviously prescribed by the endocrinologist after my blood tests) every month, and that slowly prepares my body for the changes.

You can't say something like 'the average dose' because it's not the same dose for one person as for another. Some people may have more or less testosterone or estrogen in their bodies before hormone treatment, and based on that, a dose is prescribed.
