🚨Question for the Sons out there, I lost my Father on Thursday morning (78 yrs old) to a four year battle with cancer. Those that lost their Father what items to remember your Father did you keep or wish you had kept? I’d appreciate prayers and your experienced advice. 🙏🏻

META is building 10 gas-fired power plants for its Hyperion AI data center campus in rural Louisiana They will use as much power as 5 million American homes and pollute the equivalent of 5+ million cars on the road full time per year These are the same people who tell you not to drive or run your AC because of climate change

Without seeing more I’m not 100% but likely the teres major or flat iron depending on the exact location so either the second most tender muscle on a cow or like 5th most tender lol so the. The Denver is the Under Blade steak and the Flat Iron is the Top Blade Steak so it’s most likely the Flat iron on this slice.

🚨 BREAKING: COREWEAVE WALKS FROM 2GW TEXAS DATA CENTER Poolside’s Project Horizon just lost $CRWV as anchor tenant and its $2B Nvidia-led funding round at the same time. The deal collapsed after Poolside couldn’t stand up its first GPU cluster to CoreWeave’s timeline. The capital followed the compute provider out the door. Now Poolside is in talks with Google and others to salvage it. The site is still real. 568 acres, 10GW ceiling, Permian Basin. They just need a new anchor.

This is neither an innovation nor an engineering problem. Dist Transformer procurement practices are a self-inflicted harm (just in time replacement) in the utility industry, it has been one of the most boring parts of the utility spending cycle historically, just few companies having dominance with restoring supply chain in the US (started during covid), and Asia Pacific holds over 45% of the market share, driven by rapid urbanization in China and India- so there are less to send over here if we wanted them + could actually get them considering tariff & foreign component risk. A factor limiting US prod is scarcity of grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES). This is also a monopsony market- a few huge buyers fighting for dominance so they can serve bn-dollar compute SLA customers under these new extra padded large load tariffs that promise unheard-of premiums to utilities over trad C&I customers. That's driving up costs and slowing down procurement rather than fostering collaborative, rapid production increases. If "someone" is Thanos, capable of snapping a finger and changing the outcomes for worlds, then yeah... I could buy that "someone" could solve this. Otherwise, companies that care about this should have hiring crack regulatory armies to start solving the problem 5 years ago. Sorry to report that this problem did not capture the attention of fancy capital early enough to solve it simply.

Elon Musk: "We'll have a voltage transformer shortage in a year, followed by electricity shortage." Elon said this two years ago, and we are now seeing it play out as per the Bloomberg article below. Transformer prices have doubled from 2020 and lead times stretched from weeks to 1-2 years, so grid connection wait times are measured in years now. As a result, half of the data centers scheduled for 2026 have been canceled or delayed. So, compute will remain supply constrained for the foreseeable future and prices will remain elevated. Cloud providers will sell every bit of capacity they can bring online. Never been this bullish on hyperscalers. $AMZN $MSFT $ORCL $NBIS $CRWV
Akshat Rathi@AkshatRathi

Half of US data centers planned for 2026 are expected to be delayed or canceled. One big reason is shortage of electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear and batteries. US doesn't have manufacturing capacity, forcing it to rely on imports. 🎁🔗 bloomberg.com/news/features/…

WOW 🚨 Democrats in Wisconsin EXEMPTED Data Centers from taxes on sales, electricity and electrical equipment It was signed into law by Democrat Governor Tony Evers Data Centers don’t have to pay taxes on - Electricity itself (purchased for operation of the data center) - Server equipment, networking gear, cooling systems, cabling, and more - Conduit - Substations - Uninterruptible energy equipment (e.g., UPS) - Switches and switchboards - Batteries and backup generation equipment “Pretend that our energy bills are not being raised by data centers. We are paying their taxes though. So our bills are still being raised because of data centers.”
