9/ When looking for lipoid pneumonia, please pay special attention to the following A. The specimens by BAL and TBBx have to be sent for Oil Red O stain B. Please call path and ask NOT to put all of BAL in fixative and send one TBBx placed in SALINE, not formalin.

7/ Following conditions have been reported so far in association with vaping/e-cigarette associated lung injury: A. Lipoid pneumonia B. Diffuse Alveolar Hemorrhage C. Eosinophilic Pneumonia D. Organizing Pneumonia E. ARDS / diffuse alveolar damage

6/ Patient was diagnosed with vaping associated lung injury and a bronchoscopy was performed promptly. What should we be specifically looking for when performing bronchoscopy?

8/ For #PCCM physicians please consider when performing bronchoscopy: 1. Perform serial BALs in the least affected area to evaluate for DAH 2. Send BAL for cell count looking for eosinophils 3. Perform a BAL in most affected area as well looking for lipoid pneumonia.
