There’s a special issue of IEEE Trans. on Inf. Theory, Vol. 57, No. 2, February 2011, dedicated to his work. Just want to say that although 17 years has passed, he is still well remembered by the community.

It’s hard to believe it’s been 17 years since Prof. Ralf Koetter left us on February 2, 2009. His lecture with Prof. Forney on coding theory was truly a classic, and I still keep the notes handy with me.

Got email today saying IEEE Google account is reduced from 30G to only 2G effective 8/1/2022, although there is 1 year grace period. Prof. Liu @IeeePresident I recall in your election statement, you are going to reduce the membership cost. It never happened and now benefits cut.
