@sampierat@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly The point is that using real world logic makes both answers completely impossible, so we have to make theoretical situations
@HamiltonHqmy@wisejack80@tildesilly i understand the game better than my skill level (not saying better than like top players or w/e) i know that much, i just think you guys arent great at articulating your points which is something entirely else
@sampierat@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly The point is that no matter what you do or how good you can theoretically get, there will always be things out of your control that will mess out up
@wisejack80@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly like this isnt some "i think youre stupid" think i genuinely cannot tell what youre trying to say to me with all this because to me it all feels disconnected and inconsequential
@sampierat@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly I feel like you’re objectively wrong about this, like I’m not trying to be rude but I think hqmy might know a little more on the subject
@HamiltonHqmy@wisejack80@tildesilly ive played other games at high levels and have built up proper skills for nerve control. if my nose itches i use it as a reason to be even more focused. ive set top plays on osu while dealing with things much more distracting than that
@wisejack80@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly im saying those are things that come into play in NORMAL levels so why are we acting like theyre some huge deal all of a sudden here. ive beaten levels while being itchy or having to piss, just learn to focus better and ignore outside factors while playing and theyre minimized
@sampierat@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly You’re telling me you’ve never been itchy when you’re far in a level and died because of it, have you played this game?
@HamiltonHqmy@wisejack80@tildesilly just pause on the single spike level and wait to do that stuff between levels for the demonlist? like what is this argument lol these are things that happen in regular ass 2 minute levels
@sampierat@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly Using real world logic make both answers completely impossible in all theoretical sense so the argument loses all foundation
@HamiltonHqmy@wisejack80@tildesilly so why SHOULDNT we apply real world logic? because then it makes your answer seem like the wrong one? it just doesnt make sense
@sampierat@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly That wasn’t the original question but idrk, this would probably make it harder because of levels like amethyst (most just amethyst) which has a nearly impossible timing right at the start of the level, you’d have to open and do the input which is impossible to do consistently
@wisejack80@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly im assuming the demonlist would just be going between every single level individually and the single spike scenario can easily be created using teleport and counting triggers (ive already created a similar setup to do 10k triple spikes in a row with only ~40 objects)
@sampierat@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly That fair. If we include outside conditions like lag spike though then the question loses all meaning, neither of these levels could theoretically exist or run smoothly on any computer so what’s the point
@wisejack80@HamiltonHqmy@tildesilly my thoughts have shifted i still think the single spikes are harder, i dont see the issue with that. i simply rethought my logic but still came to the same conclusion
@sampierat@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy Do you honestly think there is anyone currently alive that can beat the entire demon list is a row assuming they do nothing but eat sleep and play gd in under 50 years, I mean we haven’t even factored in that once your in your 60-70 you’d just die of heart failure from the stress
@wisejack80@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy i am saying the spikes are impossible in a logistical sense that is outside of your control and the demonlist is impossible in terms of skill, and historically speaking gd players have been very good at improving their skill while you cannot change the outside factors
@sampierat@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy Both are impossible so it’s a dumb argument, however, the spikes are less impossible (way way way way less impossible)
@sampierat@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy Well Id argue that both are completely impossible for anyone in their lifetime so let’s change the argument a little to make it possible, if you put a random player in a time dilation chamber with an immortal computer, for most players (99.99%) it would be easier to do the spikes
@wisejack80@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy but it wouldnt. both tasks for the average player are impossible. but for best of the best players the single spikes are more impossible. so for more people the single spikes are impossible compared to the demonlist
@sampierat@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy I mean hqmy is literally the verifier of the top 9 level and even he thinks the spikes would be astronomically easier
@sampierat@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy But your argument is that the entire demon list would be easier for some very select people (like 10 people at most, which I still disagree with but whatever), I’m saying for literally everyone besides those people it would be astronomically easier to do the spikes
@sampierat@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy Factoring in the time it take to do that and the time it takes to not lose consistency at level 150 while you’re currently learning the top 1, it would be approximately forever, also remember it’s not “if you were the best player of all time”, it’s just what would be harder
@wisejack80@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy for me personally, if i was of the skill to do this, i would try to be 99% consistent at 150-75, 95% at 75-30, and 90~% at the top 30 before doing serious runs from 0. and learning each level to that degree would take much less time than brute forcing it with worse odds
@sampierat@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy That’s fair, let’s get more accurate: if we assume 97% pass rate per extended list, 90% for top 75-51, 85% for top 50-11, and 50% for top 10, as well as using 30 minutes per attempt, we only get 5321 years. Now you can 𝑚𝑎𝑦𝑏𝑒 argue you’d be more consistent but by how much
@wisejack80@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy your argument of "assuming you have a 90% chance of passing each level" makes no logical sense because if you were seriously learning how to do the demonlist in a row you would attempt to get more consistent than that at all of the easier levels
@sampierat@HamiltonHqmy Also if you were wondering if we do just the top 10 with a 10% pass rate per level (generous) and 6 seconds per attempt it would take over 2000 years of straight playing
@sampierat@tildesilly@HamiltonHqmy First of all, this is the gd community the majority of people are minors, second of all if that’s not what happened then make an actual point
