Junior middleweight contender Charles Conwell has signed a multi-fight deal with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, sources tell ESPN. Conwell, 26, hasn’t competed since November 2022 but remains undefeated. He represented USA at the 2016 Olympics.

Charles Conwell’s manager, Mark Habibi, is pushing for the WBC’s No. 2 junior middleweight contender to land a title shot in the near future. Jermell Charlo still must face Tim Tszyu while a rematch between Brian Mendoza and Sebastian Fundora for the interim title is on deck.
“The interim champ was knocked out cold. I don’t understand why the WBC is even allowing this rematch to happen. Charles has been waiting patiently for his opportunity. … He hasn’t fought since November of last year. We can’t be kept sitting on the sidelines like this with no activity. It’s just not fair.”
