Memorial Day. I left Vietnam.6\69, but Vietnam never left me. Remember the smells, sensations, horrors+small joys. Remember names on the Wall, also faces, other casualties,guys I knew by nicknames or for a couple hours. We don’t celebrate today we remember with heavy hearts.

@wiseunclebuck My kids suffer today because their dad was in Vietnam. The VA said that Agent Orange affected their loss of hearing and eyesight. The effects of war remain long after the war is over. Sir, thank you for your service.

An hour and a half… I met him he was dead, another guy, a slack man who missed a trip wire…kid I shared morning coffee shot unassing a chopper on a hot LZ. Shrapnel from one howitzer kills a kid on the gun crew in front it. Lots of faces to remember.
