i can easily imagine a variant of this scene where the painting conflict still sits between them but they put it aside to work together. and i like to think this mythical version of S5 would have allowed both halves of willel to survive and figure it out in the aftermath. 💛💜

i tend to believe that el's initial reaction to byler would be a complex reaction — and this is a context where i'd understand henry trying to use will's sexuality against him? henry would hope that it'd drive a wedge between willel as a duo that could collectively kick his ass!
