@DissidentHell I've tried a number of things, but I've yet to find something that permanently solves the problem. Most enchantments tend to fade after a while.
*Finally, she claps her hands together, and the cube solidifies, the scent of sea salt filling the air, followed by several coughs.*
English

@witch_patche I see, have you not tried enchantments for such a thing yet? Why attempt a ritual for it?
Not that I am against it at all! Why would I be? I’m just curious if it’s so bad, I hate to see a fellow sorcerer so limited…
English

@DissidentHell It was merely an example.
*She finishes performing the somatic movements, then, with a hard shove towards the space in front of her, a large cube of sea salt slowly begins to shimmer into existence.*
The one I had in mind was just a simple ritual to help mitigate my asthma.
English

@witch_patche Nobody said anything about wrath. Just some form of emotion!
Whatever is the purpose of the ritual? Is there an emotion tied to it? If so, then that is the bottomless well with which to derive power for it from!
You’re doing well…
English

@DissidentHell In my experience, the emotions you should channel vary from spell to spell.
*She grits her teeth, eyes glowing purple as she exerts herself, but she remains calm.*
Applying wrath to something like this tends to distort it, even if the overall output does increase.
English

@witch_patche As dedicated as you are to the magic arts, you’ll be fine! Perhaps a little more “umph” into it!
Despite what many of the magi teach, emotions and feelings help magic significantly! So long as you know how to use them.
(Hecatia watches intently, smiling proudly)
English

@DissidentHell Very well. I shall do my best.
*She takes a slow, deep breath, collecting herself before uttering an incantation and performing those some somatic movements, this time more exaggerated to account for the greater size.*
This should work, so long as I do not falter.
English

@witch_patche At the level you’re at, the conjured size of the object you’re creating isn’t stable. Try once again over this cloth, if all goes to plan you should produce enough salt to cover it!
English

@DissidentHell My flesh is notoriously fragile, unfortunately.
*A cough follows her words, the flame in her hand flickering for a moment.*
But my aptitude for magic far exceeds my poor constitution, and so...
*She clenches her fist, and a cube of sea salt replaces the flame.*
I can manage.
English

@witch_patche Most do! It’s a pure material after all. We’ve got all of class to go over it! So please take your time
You needn’t be so scrupulous when it comes to magic. When using magic you are handling yourself at your core, if you think the flesh can keep up with the soul you’re mistaken.

English

@DissidentHell The list of rituals that I must study is... rather oversized.
*She sighs, taking a deep breath before performing the somatic motions for a basic conjuration, a white, salty flame appearing in her hand.*
One of them does require sea salt, so that is an ample place to start.

English

@witch_patche No better place to start than the beginning. Can you conjure something simple like salt! After you do that try something bigger like malachite! The material you know?
Any ritual in specific you’re wishing to perform with this?
English

@DissidentHell Normally I'd have my doubts about such a claim, but if anyone could back it up, it's you.
*She breathes a sigh of relief. She's rarely wrong, and today was no different, thankfully.*
How soon may we begin?
English

@witch_patche Precisely! Bravo! And the greatest sorcerer too boot!
(The goddess claps her hands in excitement)
Then you know full well you’re in good hands learning here! By the end of your time here, you’ll be twice as good a magician or sorcerer you were you when started!
English

@DissidentHell Your old name and title? Was it not Hecate, Magician Goddess of the Greek Pantheon? Or am I mistaking you for another? Foreign myth isn't my strongest subject.
*She sighs at her own lack of certainty.*
Mayhap I need to refresh myself on it once more...

English

@witch_patche Correct as can be! Say as such a magician I should tell you something. I doubt you know much of me- wait actually you probably do!
Do you know my old name? And my old title?
(The goddess tilts her head questioningly as she grabs a book of conjuring from her desk)

English

@DissidentHell Normally, it would be out of date, but some older ritual-cast spells still call for material components, and as a grand magician, I must master them.
While I could likely adapt each of them to function without materials, such a thing would be easier if I cast them once first.
English

@witch_patche Understandable, but don’t you believe your form of magic is a bit outdated? I’ve no qualm with it!
But catalyst ingredients for casting is quite the relic of the past you know?
English

@DissidentHell Mostly materials or reagents to use with other spells. It can be very annoying to procure things like sea salt when I have no direct access to the ocean, so conjuring it is one of the only options I have.
English

@witch_patche You seem to have know how! I’ll take your word for it. Is there anything you’d like to learn how to conjure in particularly?
Otherworldly items? Creatures? Anything?
English

@DevilofScarlet_ Please do not make me get the sun lamps.
English

@witch_patche It's more like candy. Sweet, but unhealthy.
English

@DevilofScarlet_ Does my sickly blood not taste terrible? I had always assumed I was the equivalent of a burnt steak when it came to blood.
English

@witch_patche Nope. You're the one I come for when I'm too lazy to fly.
English

@DissidentHell The basics will not be necessary, no. You can think of me as an advanced user, if you'd like.
Conjuration is something I rarely use, and so my skill with it, while still high, feels lacking compared to my mastery of other disciplines of magic.
English

@witch_patche Oh- the Librarian from that mansion place? Well please join us! No better place to learn magic than from me!
Have a seat. Conjugation you said? I take it I don’t need to remind you of the basics?
English

@YetAnotherRan You will fail. His Christmas magic rivals the most skilled magicians to ever live, not even Sakuya and myself could catch a glimpse of him with what we thought was an impenetrable defense.
English

@DevilofScarlet_ Besides the obvious answer of my closest, longest-lasting friend and companion, I presume?
*A brief, fleeting smile could be seen.*
Perhaps the corvids that tend to gather on the wall surrounding the mansion? They often alert me to an intruder's presence when they make noise.
English

@witch_patche That's a good one.
What about favourite animate object?
English

@DevilofScarlet_ ...
*She's quiet for a long moment, clearly putting a lot of thought into her answer. Finally, she speaks:*
Comfortable furniture.
English
