They are not only sacred as part of Nature: they are sacred Powers of Otherworld that have taken root in this world!

A halo around St Michael's tower this morning as the sun rose here in Glastonbury.

In the Ogham script the Hawthorn tree is represented by Huath (H) a word meaning to be in fear or in awe of and it certainly straddles the liminal zone between the light and the dark 🌙 In County Kerry, in the very south of Ireland, people once placed sprigs in fields during the month of May to prevent fairies from stealing their crops and yet this tree that offered so much protection was not to be trifled with. In one tale from Ireland a man cut down a Hawthorn tree and from the stump blood gushed, soaking the earth around it 🌾🩸 He lived long enough to return home to describe what he had seen and died before the sun sank over the Atlantic 🌊

Once upon a time, my little family was made up of 5...alive. I was 36 when this pic was taken, a week before my 10th wedding anniversary. All of my kids died before my 10th anniversary. Today I am 47& I am the only one left alive in this photo.

@Jessworldview You could read the epilogue - which Tolkien intended to be the last chapter just to get a few more pages out of it. I like it!

I am reading my last chapter of LOTR Return of the King, and I don’t want this story to end. Where do I go from here? I have a ton of classics on my shelf I want to read but I don’t want to leave Middle Earth. I can read multiple books, so give me suggestions, please.

Didn't expect it today but it's here and oh my god it's stunning. It is bizarre to see this thing in such high quality. It's a miraculous restoration with so much attention to detail. We've been so lucky to have this level of care and attention applied to this film. #DoctorWho
