@garrytan Evals are crucial, yet many devs ship based on "vibes." Creating evals is tough. The next AI engineering breakthrough will make evals 10x easier for teams, ensuring everyone building with AI has solid ones! (withcoherence.com is our start at this 😀)

The Macaw home page currently has a 27% conversion rate (visit to sign-up) This is kind of insane, 5-10% is typically considered great. This isn't a flex. I wanted to share my thoughts on why I think it's so high so hopefully you can steal some ideas 1) Positioning In our case "Content humans love to read" Most people have tried an AI writer at some stage and thought "Oh this is kinda cool, but it just sounds like AI". Whether it works or not doesn't matter, they don't want to publish crappy AI stuff on their blog. That's something we recognized quite early when building Macaw. So we spent a ton of time improving the language (over a year optimizing while working hands-on with brands to work out the kinks) Position Macaw as "Content humans love to read" immediately addresses that core concern everyone has with AI writing tools Then we offer 3 free articles for anyone who wants to call our bluff While I'll be the first to admit it's not perfect (yet), it's a hell of a lot better than anything else available right now. We aim for a 90% success rate and offer 1 free regeneration if it's not right — so we back that statement completely While positioning isn't something I can give advice on generically, for you own brand, separating yourself from the competition is essential and will definitely impact conversion 2) Branding Early-stage companies have to fight to stand out. It's a harsh reality, but people do judge a book by its cover. People are protective of their time. They see dozens of new products every week, they are much less likely to invest their time trying a product if it just looks like everything else So we put a lot of effort into the look and feel of the Macaw brand And while we love the look — the most important thing here is that we don't look like everyone else We have a unique style that stands apart 3) Language We keep it clear and concise If you scroll through our home page, you'll notice we don't have any walls of text. It's very visual with clear statements like: "Articles in one-click. Add as many keywords as you like and click generate. That’s it." Again to the point of people's time. It's so important to respect time and get to the point. You have 5 seconds to make an impression with the "above the fold" (hero section) Then if they're interested if you have about 20 seconds to address the questions/concerns they have in their head (exactly like sales) If you write 60 seconds of content straight off the bat, people will drop and your conversion will suffer. 4) Objection handling Put simply, I mapped out all of the objections people might have about our product and addressed them on the page A landing page works exactly like a sales conversation, except instead of one-to-one, it's one-to-many. If you think about selling to someone: You: *Quick high-level pitch* Them: Okay, sounds interesting... but how does X work? Does it connect with my existing tool? Is it expensive? They'll naturally ask a bunch of questions (objections) It's your job to understand what their objections are when they're reading your page and address them concisely This is probably the biggest thing I see people miss on landing pages It's really as simple as writing down everything someone might have an issue or concern about and mapping that to your answer. Better yet, speak to people about the product and use those questions/objections for your list. 5) Marty the Macaw 🦜 (our mascot) Finally, Marty. A true gentleman and heartbreaker. Nothing else to add there. - That's the main points I wanted to share — anything else that you liked about the page that I missed?

Incredibly excited for this announcement! At @with_coherence we're launching Coherence 2.0 (in beta) AND announcing our new open source framework, CNC! TL;DR - Coherence 2.0 (beta.withcoherence.com) is a next-generation developer platform that is the most flexible way to provision and deploy to environments in your own cloud. - CNC (cncframework.com) is the first open source Infrastructure-as-Code framework that gives you total control over what your environments look like and how they work. Coherence 2.0 integrates your CNC apps directly into your cloud provider and source control (e.g. github), with a seamless UI/CLI for management and configuration.
