Where Arteta's project started to derail was the Havertz transfer. I love Havertz, but that was the first time in our history we were splashing over 60 million pounds (money Wenger could have only dreamt of) on a player where there were significant concerns in the fan base about how he would fit in. Havertz was not popular at Chelsea with underwhelming performances. That transfer marked the beginning of a few dodgy decisions which, unless we win things, you have to say Arteta got massively wrong. @Arsenal

The signing of Madueke was a total mistake. Arteta keeps making that mistake since his managerial appointment. Started with Willian, then moved to Jesus then Havertz and now Madueke. A coach that doesn’t learn from his mistakes but tries to prove he can fix everything. Olivier Pope of football.

@SomaliaNGooner1 He signed a useless Kai Havertz that many of the fans didn't believe in, and the same player messed us up against Man City in the Carabao Cup final. So Arteta still has to share in the blame as his talent ID is messed up.

For three seasons, I was heavily critical of Arteta, you can go back and see it in my tweets. I genuinely believed he was the main reason we weren’t winning trophies. This season, though, I won’t single him out. Too many big players have fallen short when it mattered most, when they were needed to step up and take control of key moments. Great players elevate good managers into elite ones. Great managers elevate good players into world-class ones. But to truly dominate, you need both. I think Mikel has more than played his part this season. His identity and approach, maybe not always pretty but clear, have taken us to a Carabao final, an FA Cup quarter-final, one foot in the CL semi-finals, and top of the league. Now it’s on the players to rise, show bravery, deliver quality in decisive moments, and turn this into something special. The opportunity to win the league and the CL is right there. This isn’t just on Arteta. It’s on the players, too.

I apologise to the fans I have argued with over the years about this manager. You were right and I was too blind to see it. Rookie manager learning on the job in his first Managerial position. Yes players have been shocking, but every single one of them are HIS players. When legends like Henry speak up again I will shut up and listen!!

Even if Arteta wins the title this season, Arsenal have to fire him regardless. Arsenal have hit their endpoint with him. The title (hopefully) would be a compensation of the 6 years failure and investment, not a justification for a new contract.
