@CowboyEastTexas I use a small chain between the lift arms and under the driveline, raise it up near the right height they push it on the pto shaft , a lot easier than trying to hold it up and spline.

They really do. On this 15' mower I'd guess the driveline is somewhere around 100 lbs so you're picking up half that and holding it with one hand, lining up the splines, trying to slide it on and get it to latch. All in a not so comfortable position. I never even thought about it when I was younger, but it gets my attention now. To make it more fun yesterday the PTO shaft had fallen off the rest and was lying in the dirt. Full of fire ants. Full of dirt. Got it cleaned up and lubed up but I got plenty ant bites before I finished. But that's my fault for not checking it. Gonna do better this time to make sure it doesn't get in the dirt. Always a learning experience no matter how many decades you do it.

Yesterday was catching up on chores day. The back pasture sorely needed mowing and we're supposed to get rain this week so I hooked up the batwing and knocked it out. I don't mind mowing. It's enjoyable even. But hooking up that batwing is hard on an old guy. Gonna try to make sure I do get anything else mowed that needs it while it's hooked up. Then clean it up, grease it, and make sure it's ready for next time.

@coleman_peanut Pulled a backwards calf yesterday walked down to creek to wash up found old horse shoe , hopefully my calving luck has changed.

On today addition of digging up the past someone’s dad or boss is asking how in the world do you lose a digging bar. I do have to admit it’s the heaviest one I’ve ever handled.
