Assessing grip strength is worthless if we fail to address arm orientation. Use 90° shoulder abduction, 120° elbow flexion, with 85° supination to assess pitchers grip strength. This arm orientation explains the highest percentage of variance in pitching velocity.

Technology is outstanding; however, don’t forget, we use it to understand the human body, which is amazing and still not fully understood.
