2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ BetGoodwin Champion of Champions 🤝Pluto TV 📺 WSD are delighted to confirm that the 2025 BetGoodwin Champion of Champions will be shown live and free on Pluto TV. The eagerly anticipated third edition of the event will take place on Sunday 29 June at the MODUS Live Lounge in Portsmouth. Live coverage will be shown on MODUS Super Series Darts channel on Pluto TV, with 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor appearing as part of the presentation team. Pluto TV, known for its diverse and free-to-access streaming content, is extending its reach to darts enthusiasts by hosting the live broadcast of the event on its dedicated 24/7 darts channel – MODUS Super Series Darts. With Pluto TV’s dedication to providing quality entertainment without subscription fees, viewers can enjoy the action without barriers, creating a new era of accessibility for sports fans. This year’s lineup will see Richie Howson attempt to defend the title that he won in 2024, and also includes reigning WSD World Champion Ross Montgomery, and former World Seniors Champions Robert Thornton and John Henderson. Decorated trio Steve Beaton, Simon Whitlock and Mervyn King will also be in the field, as will three-time Lakeside World Champion Martin Adams, and former WDF World Champion Neil Duff. One further wildcard selection, and two qualifiers will complete the 12-player field. The event will begin at 12pm BST with a bumper session of eight matches, featuring four preliminary round ties ahead of the quarter-finals, with the semi-finals and final taking place in the evening session from 7pm. 🏆WSD can now confirm the final four invited players for the upcoming 2025 BetGoodwin Seniors World Darts Championship. Following the conclusion of a long stint with the PDC, we are delighted to confirm that Simon Whitlock has accepted an invitation to play in Purfleet at our World Championship for the first time. Simon is a 2022 PDC World Cup Champion, alongside his Australia team-mate Damon Heta, and 'The Wizard' won the European Championship in 2012. He has also been a World Championship finalist with both the BDO at Lakeside in 2008, and in 2010 with the PDC, where he lost out to the imperious Phil Taylor at Alexandra Palace. Also fresh off a lengthy stay in the PDC ranks, Mervyn King will also be present at The Circus Tavern, as he bids to claim the trophy at the first attempt. 'The King' is a former Winmau World Master, and reached the final of both the 2002 and 2004 BDO World Championships at Frimley Green. A popular figure in the sport, John Part will also be gracing the Circus Tavern stage once again, and the three-time Champion of the World will travel from Canada to play in our flagship event. Rounding off the four invited players will be former BDO World Trophy winner, Darryl Fitton, who will bring his fan-friendly walk-on to the Tavern. WSD Chairman, Jason Francis, said; "We are really pleased to be able to confirm these four players for our upcoming World Championship". "They all need little introduction, and will all be welcome additions to what is already a tournament stacked full of talent".
