JUST IN: Japanese Financial Giant SBI Teams Up With Solana to Expand Onchain Finance Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings and Solana Foundation announced a strategic partnership to develop Japan-originated onchain financial markets. As part of the initiative, Solana Foundation will join SBI R3 Japan, which is set to be renamed SBI Solana Global, alongside SBI and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), one of Japan's three megabanks. The partnership will focus on JPY stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) including bonds, funds and real estate, cross-border payment infrastructure, and institutional onchain financial services. SBI said the initiative aims to connect Japan's regulated financial markets with global blockchain liquidity and position Japan as a hub for onchain finance in Asia.
