@saintsonso I hope in the home, so digital art can be part of life - as you say it demands a different kind of approach - thats passive and doesn't burn out but deepens over time - it's a fascinating space that we're focussed on layer.com love to know what you think

I believe that in most instances people want art in their homes that is not overly demanding of attention, to not feel like a gallery. That said, some of my favorite works are motion based that by their nature pull the eye to it. So where best to show these motion based works?

@saintsonso @anaglyph_ic I think you are making great points - living with digital art demands a different mindset, a more passive piece that doesn't burn out - pieces like Richter by Leander Herzog/Richard Nadler have that quality. We're working on exactly this layer.com

@anaglyph_ic but to be fair, i may just be harping on something that digital art is not well built for and that is really more a problem with me as the buyer. i am well aware of the properties of digital art and maybe i should just best be happy with what it is and not what it isnt.

Comics are a medium I will forever champion. I know I'm talking to the converted on here, but I'll always try to reach outside of our narrow circles to cultivate wider interest and understanding. Not as easy as it seems! Have a great weekend all, and here's a little art!

@mattsouthworth Rice paper it is then - that approach could help us all… ✨⚡️(and eating stone paper may be less of a long term solution to greatness)

@wolstenholme That's crazy, I'd love to check that out. I know Dave Cooper swears by that Yupo paper, which is a kind of plastic, of all things. I've always wanted to work on rice paper, so then I could eat all my bad drawings and make sure my legacy as an unimpeachable genius remains intact..

@mattsouthworth really interesting surface - company called Karst make a stone paper sketchbook -more ecological than wood paper - and literally made of stone - like stone powder bound together - really strong/resilient - but different absorption/drying - interested to know what you make of it

At my very first design job straight out of college I presented the client with a design that had their logo spinning in 3D as a joke. It obviously looked horrible. Client loved it so we ended up going live with it. What are your professional 'Wish I hadn't done that' moments?
