I recently shared the story of Jim Moylan, the @Ford engineer who invented the gas tank arrow. By complete chance, I was lucky to meet his daughter, Liz, during a tour at the Smithsonian's @airandspace Museum where she works. When she told me who her father was, I was shocked – such a small world. Thank you for saying hi, Liz! Your dad was a genius and a perfect example of how sometimes simple ideas can have a big impact on people’s lives.
I think of Jim Moylan's invention every time I fill up my gas tank. Jim was a @Ford engineer who noticed an issue and was inspired to solve it to make our customers' daily lives easier. Nearly 40 years later and his innovative idea still helps millions of drivers every day!
