We need Knights of Columbus security councils outside our schools. Set up an armed watch and take shifts. We have the manpower to do this. Dads, uncles, grandfathers, we need to step up

@Rhonda_925 The Catholic Church washes the feet of all of us who have sinned through the Sacrament of Confession. Then it gives us the Eucharist to give us the strength to keep our feet cleaned. No shame - we are all sinners.

This is an eyewitness account from Saint John, the Apostle: "What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands concerns the Word of life." (1John 1:1)

@kalezelden At our Catholic grade school Mass, the nun would put a phonograph on the steps of the sanctuary next to a microphone and play Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" for the recessional hymn. It was crazy.

Being born in the church in, say, 1973 vs 1983 is just so incredibly different. That decade difference was ALL the difference. By '83 John Paul II had already mucked up the works of the real revolutionaries by then. Y'all just don't know what was being done in the council's name during that crazy decade after the new mass was promulgated. You think you know but you do not know. I recommend talking to someone a decade older than you, especially those of us who stuck around and lived to be an adult Catholic.

@work_chris2701 If you will, please pray for me. I am in a time of turmoil. Only God can help me through. But God is enough. I ask for prayers because I believe that God calls us to be in community. I am thankful for my Christian brothers and sisters. My name is Harmony.

Have faith! Good things are around the corner! "I believe I shall see the LORD’s goodness in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD, take courage; be stouthearted, wait for the LORD!" (Ps 27:13-14)

Listen to Saint Peter Chyrsologus: "Let your heart be an altar. Then with full confidence in God, present your body for sacrifice. God desires not death, but faith; God thirsts not for blood but for self-surrender; God is appeased not by slaughter, but by the offering of your free will."

Are we allowing Christ to use us to build up His Church?

On September 3, 1914 Cardinal Giacomo Della Chiesa was elected Pope at the conclave and took the name Benedict XV. The new pontiff took the name in order to win "the new world for Christ through the intercession of Saint Benedict." "The new Pontiff was next conducted to the sacristy where three white cassocks --large, medium, and small--were in readiness. For Benedict, even the smallest was much too large. The sleeves were so long that his fingertips barely extended beyond the cuffs, and the small shoulder cape looked huge and ungainly on the very narrow and unevenly sloping shoulders."

Cardinal Giovanni Battista Montini was elected at the conclave on June 21, 1963. He took the name Pope Paul VI. He was elected following the death of John XXIII, his closest friend. But that friendship caused concern for some of the cardinals during the conclave: "Of course, some of the Cardinals, who had been frightened by John XXIII's proposals for sweeping reforms, were reluctant to vote for Montini at the conclave." He took the name Paul to alleviate some of the suspicions. Paul III had been the first Pope to counterattack the Reformation approving the foundation of the Jesuit Order and the Holy Inquisition. Paul V was the Chief Inquisitor before being elected to the Holy See." (Pope Paul VI)

On February 15, 1775, Cardinal John Angelo Braschi was elected to be Pope and he selected the name Pope Pius VI. The new pope explained: "Pius V, was the last Pope canonized by the Church. I wish to walk in his footsteps--to arrive at the same felicity that he enjoys." On the proclamation of his election in the Pauline chapel, he fell on his knees and pronounced a prayer, so touching that those assembled burst into tears. "Venerable Fathers, your assemble has terminated: it has resulted but in misfortune to me." (Pontificate and Captivity: Pius the Sixth)

On October 28, 1958 Cardinal Angelo Roncalli was elected Pope and he took the name John XXIII "The dean of the college of cardinals asked the ritual question, 'Do you accept?' Until he answered this question, Roncalli was still the patriarch of Venice. He replied: "Listening to your voice, 'I tremble and am seized with fear'. What I know of my poverty and smallness is enough to cover me with confusion. But seeing the sign of God's will in the votes of my brother cardinals, I accept the decision they have made; I bow my head before the cup of bitterness and my shoulders before the yoke of the Cross." With those words he became Pope John XXIII. (John XXIII: Pope of the Century)

On March 2, 1939, Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli was elected as the new Pope Pius XII: "Again the senior cardinal spoke: "What name do you wish to bear?" In a firmer voice came the answer, "Pius." Then the Pope rose to his feet and walked with grave dignity to the sacristy. There he took off his cardinal's robe and was robed in the Papal cassock of pure white, a color he would never leave off, even in death. He returned to the chapel, and now the cardinals, who had been his equals a few moments before, knelt in turn before him and kissed his hand." (Crown of Glory)

@RMXnews The Pastor should be removed and the school should be closed until a new staff can be hired. "If I preach the gospel, this is no reason for me to boast, for an obligation has been imposed on me, and woe to me if I do not preach it!" (1 Cor 9:16)

@CoffinMedia Exactly! "I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead: proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching." (2Tim 4:1-2)

The Catholic Church doesn’t need to change with the times. She needs to sanctify the times. Truth doesn’t evolve. It incarnates once, for all, in Christ. Everything else is noise.
