I'm a former defense attorney and currently a civil liberties attorney with no political dog in this fight. I watched the video at least 10 times from different angles and at different speeds and waited to offer an opinion, which I still reserve the right to change if additional information changes the calculus. It is very clear that the officers instigated the confrontation. The woman initially tried to wave them past her. ICE officers have no authority to search a US citizen or arrest her (unless there's probable cause to believe she's harboring undocumented individuals, not a contention here). A woman surrounded by masked, armed men who have no law enforcement authority over her has every right to try to escape. Video shows her steering wheel is turned to the right, clearly an attempt to leave WITHOUT hitting anyone and steer clear of the officer standing towards the front of her car. That officer had time to step to the side, which is where he was when he shot her. Even a real police officer would not have the right to shoot at her for trying to flee. This is well-established in the case law; deadly force may not be used simply to prevent someone from getting away. Given that the ICE officers had no law enforcement authority to begin with, AND the video footage shows she was trying to escape a perceived threat, not to kill anyone, the crime is all the more inexcusable. I'm praying for the victim's family, especially her children. I'm also praying for all the conservatives who are so unprincipled and lost they're excusing this terrible crime, and gloating over a death that will leave three young children motherless, because of the victim's politics.

@WallStreetApes Obama did not destroy the market. Trump shutting down the economy and bailing everyone out do that. But subsidizing health care, Congress got the same result as skyrocketing college tuition subsidized by student loans. Nobody got healthier or smarter. Corporate welfare.

American works, she makes average money, she shows she just got her health insurance renewal saying her new premiums will be almost $700 per month Obviously most people can’t afford this so she’s having to cancel, won’t have insurance and “hope for the best” Barack Obama destroyed our healthcare system with the affordable care act If it wasn’t for Obama the government would have never been involved in paying these astronomical subsidies and insurance companies would have never been able to raise rates this high

@Tony12953 @EricIdle If you don't know, you have your head in the sand. To ask that question seems entirely dishonest. In America, he is free to say whatever he wants. I respect him being protective of others' rights to speak. Just don't call him a good Christian. instagram.com/reel/DOcMSQnja…

Rob Reiner was a lovely man. I spoke to him last night for over an hour. I always enjoyed his company. I met him at his Dad's in 1975. He was telling me about fiming at Stonehenge and his thoughts for the future. This is so awful. I shall miss him. A clever, talented and very thoughtful man. So awful.

@Tony12953 @EricIdle "Most in here" is quite the qualifier since mostly what remains in the Twitter cess pool is the dregs of incivility for which there is no bottom. Where are your posts on Charlie Kirk not being such a nice guy either?

@its_The_Dr The truck for sure. If you think the bike could have avoided the accident. Then you’ve never locked up your brakes at high speed while keeping it under control.

@DesireeAmerica4 This also has to do with the first two successive generations of men not being drafted into war. Many men learn mechanics and other engineering fixing equipment in the service.

She’s saying what a lot of women are thinking but are afraid to say. She wants a man who can change a tire, change the oil, and actually pursue a woman. Basically, she wants the "Dad Standard." But she feels like her generation has completely lost those skills and that mindset. It raises a real question: Did we stop teaching young men how to be capable, or has society just "softened" the role of men entirely

@awfulannouncing It was clear PI because the defender wasn’t playing the ball. The announcers had it right. It didn’t impact the game since it would have only been a 15-yard penalty (vs. a spot foul).

@KurtSchlichter The republicans always take advantage of the Army/Navy game - the easiest feel good photo op of all time. Dems always blow it. But the GOP look like little dick fags for calling it the Department of War & acting like a Fox News morning host is anything but an unqualified clown.

I know it’s really upsetting to you that you lost the election, and we got to pick who the Secretary of War is, but you lost the election. We get to pick who the Secretary of War is, and it’s appropriate for the Secretary of War to talk about the Army/Navy game. There’s no special rule that your political opponents don’t get to do things that the winners of elections get to do because it makes you sad.

Of course CBS had to ruin the Army/Navy pregame with Kegseth spewing bullshit for 3 minutes

@jwtnvol The award is for the best overall player not a role model. Pavia had a worse team in a tougher league, and led the NCAA in total offense when taking his team to new heights. And he cost himself the award by being a hot shot ass hole.

@jasonwhitlock Bama should have dropped for the way they looked the last month & in that game. But in no way was Notre Dame more qualified. Bama became the first team in history this year to beat 4 consecutive top 25 teams - all were actually all top 15. I would've gone ND, but Bama is valid.

Alabama has looked like trash for the past three weeks. Notre Dame is more qualified to make the CFP. Instead, ESPN has rigged a conversation that forces everybody to focus on Notre Dame’s loss to Miami, and Alabama gets in without any questioning. The SEC holds all the power.
